Coastal Engineering III - "Coastal Management"

From January 5th to 13th, 2017, 12 students attended lectures at the Lebniz-Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemünde (IOW) for the student course "Coastal Engineering III", a module offered at the University of Rostock in the master studies Environmental Engineering.

The course's focus laid on the history and current situation of Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) especially in Germany, and related to coastal engineering best practices. In this context, the students were introduced to the SAF approach and tools to support the SAF steps that were developed in the BONUS BaltCoast project.

The pictures were taken when the students tested marine litter monitoring methods on the beach of Warnemünde.
